Handley was in AA for what I would take as a rehab assignment.  He has been back in/on Norfolk since 6/12/23.  Caught 4 games of the 6 games series

So what is the long term move here?  Benboom back?  Maybe a small trade. Godoy seems like just an emergency.

Yeah, that had to be a spiteful move because clearly he had an opportunity here to get back. Godoy is a guy they can add and then DFA if they need to just like Kolosvary, so maybe he felt like he was replaced anyways. It's worth noting though that Godoy has thrown out just one of 18 base runners this year in AAA under the new rules base stealing rules.

Godoy only got added because he was already on the trip, same as Kolosvary. Wouldn't be surprised if we had a different backup catcher by gametime tomorrow.

Bemboom has 3 games under his belt and already has the split contract.  No doubt he is up and Godoy is third catcher to be DFA'd in a little over a month.  Question is... is he the third to take his chances as a free agent.  He seems to have bounced a lot over the past 12 months so me may actually stick with the Norfolk assignmet.

Well as long as we don't inexplicably have this one at DH frequently it should be fine.
